This is part of my new “Fancy Mollusk” series. Inspired by a technique that I first saw in the work of Ben Barocas that uses a modern tool to achieve a very old effect similar to the “Millville Rose” a paperweight technique invented in Millville, NJ around 1905. This version creates a very anemone like effect with it’s many undulating arms surrounded by a frilly mantle and set inside a fancy scalloped shell.
I uploaded many pictures as the effect and movement is hard to portray in a still shot… But I did my best.
